CONGRATULATIONS!!!
WCA TEACHERS RECEIVE HONORS
Ms. Rebecca Wanezek and Mr. Michael Mikulasch were recently honored by the Metropolitan Milwaukee Alliance of Black School Educators (MMABSE) for their work in and out of the classroom. Each year the MMABSE recognizes teachers from all of the 114 Milwaukee Public Schools (grade schools, middle schools, high schools) for their dedication and contribution towards education excellence.
Ms. Wanezek, who received her MMABSE award in 2008, is a graduate of UW-Whitewater and Carroll College. She is completing her 6th year in teaching, all at WCA, where she teaches physical education and health and serves as department chair for physical education, art, and foreign language. Extra-curricular duties have included coaching the varsity girl’s volleyball team where she was honored this past season with the Don Sallie Boy’s and Girl’s Club PAC 8 Volleyball Coach of the Year award.
Mr. Mikulasch, the 2009 MMABSE recipient, is a graduate of UW-Whitewater. He is completing his 24th year in teaching, the last three at WCA where he teaches U.S. History and World History, and serves as the department chair for social studies. Extra-curricular duties have included coaching the boy’s varsity basketball program for the past two years. A U.S. Army veteran, Mr. Mikulasch has also had past experience as a high school athletic director and foreign language (German) teacher.
WCA would like to congratulate these two fine educators who along with the rest of the WCA faculty strive to provide a quality education for WCA students.
On behalf of the WCA students & staff…
